Invocation
Hymn # 388 “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today”
Prayer of Confession
Almighty and most merciful Father; We have erred and strayed from Thy ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against Thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; And we have done those things which we ought not to have done; And there is no health in us. O Lord, have mercy upon us. Spare those who confess their faults. Restore those who are penitent; According to Thy promises declared unto us in Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for His sake; That we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life; To the glory of Thy holy name. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
Anthem “Christ Is Risen! Let All the Earth Adore Him” --Lloyd Larson
Prayer for Illumination Glenn Sparks
Old Testament Lesson: Hosea 6: 1 - 3
Glenn Sparks
1“Come, let us return to the Lord; for it is he who has torn, and he will heal us; he has struck down, and he will bind us up. 2After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him. 3Let us know, let us press on to know the Lord; his appearing is as sure as the dawn; he will come to us like the showers, like the spring rains that water the earth.”
Hymn # 396 “Low in the Grave Christ Lay”
New Testament Lesson: John 20: 1 – 2, 11 – 18
1Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb. 2So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.”
11But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb; 12and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had been lying, one at the head and the other at the feet. 13They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” 14When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus. 15Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” 16Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni!” (which means Teacher). 17Jesus said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” 18Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”; and she told them that he had said these things to her.

Bless the Lord (echo), O my soul (echo),
And all that is within me, Bless his holy name.
He has done great things, He has done great things,
He has done great things, Bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord (echo), O my soul (echo),
And all that is within me, Bless his holy name.

The Lord’s Supper
Invitation and Words of Institution
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Giving and receiving of the Bread and Cup
The inside cups are white grape juice; the outer cups contain wine.
Prayer of Consecration
Almighty Lord: we are thankful for all the benefits given us in
this bread and wine, this body and blood. As the grain was
harvested and the grapes gathered for this food, so may your
church in every place be gathered into your household. And as
the grain was ground and the grapes crushed, so may our lives
be spent in your service, until you return in triumph to gather
to yourself the harvest and call us to the marriage feast of the
lamb. Amen.
During the last hymn, children in grades K-6 may leave for children’s choir

Worship
…is the quickening of conscience by God’s holiness;
the nourishment of mind with His truth;
the purifying of imagination by His beauty;
the opening of the heart to His love;
the surrender of the will to His purpose;
and all of this gathered up in adoration—
the most selfless emotion of which our nature is capable, and therefore the chief remedy for that self-centeredness
which is our original sin and the source of all actual sin.” - William Temple
Welcome

You Are Invited!!!
Faith Presbyterian Church is excited to announce the beginning of its Kids' Club on Sunday, April 23 at 4:30 p.m. Come and enjoy an afternoon with your friends as we listen to stories, play games, learn new skills, and earn award badges. Find out how God worked in the life of missionary Amy Carmichael and how He can work in your life as well. Let us know if you want to bring a friend!
This pilot program of the Kids' Club will run for 5 consecutive weeks this spring. It will then resume next fall as a weekly event during the school year (hopefully with all the bugs worked out). For more information contact Vicki at 497-3550 or Lou Ann at 583-0739.
Mystery Question: Why was it a good thing that Amy Carmichael had brown eyes?
Come to the Kids' Club and find out the answer. See you soon!
