About the event

Join us for VBS, where we'll have music, prayer, activities, crafts, snacks, games, memory work, and story/lesson time!  Programming offered for kids age 3 (pre-k) up through kids who have just completed 6th grade from 9 AM - 12 PM on July 11th-14th.  We also invite all registered children and their family members to join us for a simple lunch each day at 12 PM (after programming ends).  We'll provide "to go" boxes for people who can't stay and eat with us. You may drop your child off at 9 AM and pick them up after programming ends (your child should be potty trained), but you may also remain onsite if you prefer to be available to a young child in the event they need you for anything (we also have family changing facilities if siblings <3 will be with you!)  This year at VBS, we will explore the parables of Jesus (earthly stories with a heavenly point of view!). We will start the week by discussing what a parable is and how to hear and learn from the parables, and also talk about why Jesus used parables to help bring God’s heavenly reign into reality here on earth and teach people about who He was. We will then discuss some of the most well-known parables Jesus told. On Tuesday we will discuss the Parable of the Sower, a story that helps us to understand how to read the other parables. On Wednesday we will discuss parables that illustrate that God seeks and welcomes the lost (The Lost Lamb and Lost Coin, the Prodigal Son). On Thursday we will discuss parables that illustrate that God wants us to love and forgive others just as He has loved and forgiven us (The Good Samaritan, The Unmerciful Servant). On Friday we conclude with parables illustrating how God wants us to be prepared for His Kingdom and ready to accept Jesus (The Great Banquet, The Parable of the Tenants).
