LEONARD AND DEWI SIDHARTA
Singapore, China
Leonard and Dewi Sidharta are missionaries based in Singapore. Leonard received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Purdue University and built a ministry to Chinese families and students in West Lafayette. Using his teaching and scholarship gifts, Leonard and his family have since returned to the Asia Pacific region and taken the challenge of developing a new ministry to train pastors for service in China.
GREG AND FAITH HURST (SIM)
La Paz, Bolivia
Greg and Faith Hurst have served for over twenty years in La Paz and rural Bolivia. They are committed to training people to become disciples who, in turn, make disciples of Christ. Their main ministry has focused on discipleship through youth ministry and church planting. They also helped to establish an English speaking, Christian international school, start two economic development projects, and have served in SIM mission leadership.
Globally
HOPE61 fights human trafficking through prevention. HOPE61 exists to train and mobilize the worldwide church to address the issues of human trafficking and human vulnerabilities to become victims, traffickers or buyers. Globally, they train pastors, lay leaders, and missionaries to create outreach programs within their churches to prevent human trafficking in the communities.
JON AND KRISTI NYKAMP (EPC)
Mekelle, Ethiopia
The Nykamps are missionaries serving at the Mekelle Youth Center in Ethiopia (MYC). They give young people hope and opportunity, as they teach practical and life affirming skills in a loving and positive environment. MYC provides English and computer teaching, HIV/AIDS education, a library/reading room, sports and recreation programs, a café and opportunities for students to develop character, learn biblical values, and develop leadership skills. They also operate a Ministry Center which includes training, bible studies, bible clubs, etc.
JACK & MARY ANNE VOELKEL
Tucson, AZ
The Voelkel's have been missionaries in South America for many years. Having recently retired, they continue their missionary work through Jack's men's biblical study group that meets once a week to engage in learning, ministry and prayer.
